The Apple Macintosh Users Group (Sydney) Inc. (‘AMUG Sydney’) protects our website visitors’ rights to their own information and our commitment to you is keeping your trust. We appreciate that you may have certain concerns about how information is collected, used or shared. We can assure you that we will always handle your personal information securely and carefully and we are obliged to comply with applicable Australian privacy laws.

INFORMATION THAT MAY BE COLLECTED

Any personal information we collect about you via this website is only what you provide to us via our ‘Request for Help’ form (after logging in to the Members’ area), or on other forms that may be utilised on this website from time to time. This may include your name, email addres, Macintosh computer operating system, iOS or other devices owned, and membership status.

Independently of this website, upon receipt of a completed membership or renewal application, the club maintains a Membership Database, which may include the above information as well as postal address, phone, fax and mobile phone numbers (if provided), and credit card number (if you choose to pay annual fees by credit card).

HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION

This information will be used only to answer inquiries or provide goods as requested by the visitor, or in the normal operation of a user group in providing services to its members. As a member of AMUG Sydney, we may also use your contact details to communicate with you about matters which may be of interest to you – eg. monthly email newsletters – unless you specifically request that we do not.

SECURITY OF INFORMATION

We will not provide your personal information to any third party without your knowledge and consent, except as necessary to manage and distribute our monthly email newsletter that we send to members, in which case your name and email address is stored securely by a specialist email marketing provider which itself must comply with relevant privacy laws.

YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING THE INFORMATION

You have the right to ask us to disclose to you the information we hold about you and to request that it be changed at any time. You can also unsubscribe from our mailing list on request; a link to unsubscribe is provided at the bottom of every monthly email newsletter.
