May 2013 Meeting

Colin told us about the discontinuation of CNET’s Tech Tracker service for Mac and advised an alternative is MacUpdate Desktop 5, a US$20 per year premium subscription service. Colin also did demos of Mac OS X utility Character Viewer/Keyboard Viewer and MacPaw’s Clean My Mac 2.

Ron invited members to start their own Twitter account and ‘follow’ us @AMUGSydney.

Our main raffle prize was the club’s pre-loved Apple AirPort Express – still in good working order but we outgrew it! Our newer model AirPort Extreme can handle up to 50 simultaneous connections at monthly meetings (the old one allowed a maximum of 10).
